Main Street in Downtown Culpeper

The “Culpeper Christmas Parade, sponsored by Sheriff Scott Jenkins” will be held on Sunday December 8, 2019 on Main Street in Downtown Culpeper at 5:30 pm.  This great hometown family event will include lots of lights, music, nativity scenes and floats, and one special guest from the North Pole.  There is no entry fee to participate in the parade, however, sponsorship packages are available.

 

Parade Sponsorships

Santa Claus Sponsor - $5,000

Sponsor receives the following:

- Exclusive sponsorship recognition on parade day displayed on Judges Stand

- Option to judge as one of our “celebrity judges”

 - 1 Entry for your business, placed in the front of Parade

- Santa Claus Exclusive Parade Sponsor banner displayed on your Parade Float

- Advertising in print, radio and video ads & Recognition in the “Sheriff’s Christmas for Kids” program 

Mrs. Claus Sponsor - $2,500

Sponsor receives the following:

- Option to judge as one of our “celebrity judges”

- Mrs. Santa Claus Exclusive Parade Sponsor banner displayed on your Parade Float

- Advertising in print, radio and video ads & Recognition in the “Sheriff’s Christmas for Kids” program 

Elf Sponsor - $1,000

Sponsor receives the following:

Sheriff’s Christmas Parade Sponsor - $250

Sponsor receives the following:

- Business logo or name displayed on a parade banner with all Sponsors listed 

- Recognition in the “Sheriff’s Christmas for Kids” program

Standard Parade Entry - FREE

Entry/Float Requirements and Information :

 

  • NO dressing in Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus costumes permitted. (The parade committee selects “official” Santa & Mrs. Claus for the final float).

  • Santa hats are permitted.

  • Entries must be decorated and reflect the theme of Christmas.

  • Entries are encouraged to display the name of the organization and/or business.

  • No unit, float or vehicle may make aggressive, abrupt or rapid movements at any point during the parade route. 

  • Symbols that can be construed as offensive may not be permitted in the Parade.

  • The Culpeper Sheriff’s Office Christmas Parade is a family-friendly event for all ages, and every entry in the parade is expected to respect this. All costumes, outfits, behavior, attitude, language, and dance moves must be appropriate for a young audience and will be held to a high standard. Failure to comply may result in being asked to leave the parade immediately with no warning and may jeopardize a group’s approval to participate in following years. All decisions are at the discretion of Parade officials and are final.

  • Equestrian Entries must provide one person equipped with scoop and container to clean up behind the horses.

  • Weather: There will be no rain date and a determination on a weather cancellation will be made on the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office website and Facebook page no later than 1 pm.

  • Parade line up will be published on the Sheriff’s Website and Facebook pages.

2019 Culpeper Christmas Parade line-up information

Parade line-up will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2019. Please see the attached line-up information and map. If your number is designated as VL, please report to the Verizon Lot on Old Brandy Road across from CARS Automotive (614 Old Brandy Rd). Horse entry's should report to and stage in the parking lot behind Culpeper Town Square (Bowling Alley).

 

PLEASE enter the line-up from James Madison Hwy. (Rt. 29/15 business) between Koons Automotive and Culpeper Town Square (SEE MAP). There will be parade representatives along the route to assist with line-up. The parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will run south on Main Street from Piedmont Street to Mason Street.
