School Resource Officers
Culpeper County Deputies are assigned to all public schools in Culpeper County. These Deputies have been through extensive training and are highly skilled to ensure that the best interests of the Schools, Students and the Community is met. School Resource Officers also work with Deputies in the Sheriff's office that are assigned to Patrol and the Criminal Investigations division in case an actual emergency should arise. Besides the obvious advantage of having a Deputy in the schools for security reasons, School Resource Officers play an integral role in day to day activities. They assist Administration, Guidance Counselors and Teachers with any needs they may have, as well as provide specialized education to students interested in the Law Enforcement field. Having a School Resource Officer in the schools, gives the
students a different perspective on Law Enforcement and the men and women that have chosen this profession.
