Accessibility Statement

This is an accessibility statement from the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office.

The Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office is deeply committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all website visitors, including individuals with disabilities. We continually refine the digital user experience for our community and apply the relevant accessibility standards to our public infrastructure.

Conformance Focus

Our digital modification practices target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA requirements. Our ongoing monitoring references the parameters set forth in the framework document "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1_2.pdf".

Proactive Compliance & Continuous Learning

As a public safety institution, we view digital inclusion as an active, evolving responsibility rather than a static metric. The Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office has enacted deliberate measures to review our media catalogs, train our public information personnel on digital formatting rules, and adopt clear layout styles. We are actively learning, enhancing our content delivery methodologies, and identifying opportunities to maximize systemic compatibility with modern assistive utilities.

Framework Disclaimer & Liability Deferral

The Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office website is constructed on and hosted by Squarespace, a third-party content management system.

While the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office maintains administrative ownership and exclusive control over the content blocks uploaded directly to this site (including text changes, custom media assets, and downloadable press releases), the foundational source code, underlying theme matrices, responsive styling grids, semantic HTML layouts, and core platform script execution are engineered, updated, and deployed exclusively by Squarespace.

Consequently, any structural, operational, or architectural non-conformance stemming from native template constraints, platform-level system scripts, or core software code falls completely outside our administrative control. The responsibility for framework engineering and architectural compliance remains strictly with the software provider, Squarespace.
